A wonderful area of North Fulton, Roswell offers the charm of yesterday with the conveniences of today. The Downtown Roswell area is full of restaurants, art galleries, antique shops, and venues for weddings, or any other traditional gathering. Dating from the early 1800's the city features the former home of President Roosevelt's aunt, whom he stayed with on many occasions. There is easy access for those wanting to "Shoot the Hooch" as they say for those wanting to canoe or float down the Chattahoochee River. Several new neighborhoods have sprouted near the downtown area appealing to the younger crowd or those wanting to get out of single family home maintenance. Schools are well regarded and several have been renovated in the last seven years. The city's tax base is higher than those surrounding it and values continue to rise. Average home prices are in the mid $300's to $600s range with those in the higher range found in the northern neighborhoods of Roswell. Be sure to check future school boundaries and HOA assessments. Many of the neighborhoods are updating their rules and regulations, so be sure to ask your Realtor to help you gain access to this information when purchasing a home in this area.
